RISCO Group launches new ‘GT’ hybrid security system

by Andy Clutton

RISCO Group has released GT Plus, a ‘super hybrid’ security system, specifically designed for the UK market and inspired by the GT panel range.

Fundamental to the design of GT Plus system is an option of a ‘Yes/No’ style programming menu structure, which has been central to the design of existing GT products. Additionally, the new solution comes with a range of communications modules including Wi-Fi and takes advantage of RISCO’s Cloud platform, allowing for visual verification and a new ‘tablet style’ touchscreen keypad.

Visual verification

According to RISCO, as visual verification becomes increasingly integral to the setup of a modern security system, GT Plus has been designed to allow for compatible internal and external PIR camera detectors, as well as the VUpoint IP camera range.

Upon detection, the camera is triggered automatically with snapshots and video clips available to the end user and the monitoring station simultaneously; all of which can be enabled by an installer using RISCO Cloud.

The latter solution, with NVR functionality added in 2019, is an integrated intruder and CCTV system allowing for live view, recording and real-time event verification and was a finalist at the 2020 PSI Premier Awards.

New touchscreen keypad

GT Plus is available with the option of RisControl, RISCO’s new smart touchscreen keypad. Featuring an 8” touchscreen, RisControl allows users to utilise all keypad functionalities as well as the RISCO Cloud functions such as controlling the alarm and video monitoring, from one customisable interface.

Commenting on the launch, Ian Stones, head of sales for RISCO UK: “We have listened to UK installers’ requests for a UK-centric Cloud based system designed in a similar way to the legacy GT systems for which our reputation was built.  We are delighted we can now offer a system which has the look and feel of GT, but with all the technologies now demanded by installers and end users alike.”
