Wireless day/night Cloud camera launched

by Andy Clutton

DCS-7000L_A1_Image L(Front)D-Link has unveiled the Wireless AC Day/Night HD Mini Bullet Cloud Camera (DCS-7000L) which has a sensor with a wide field of view to give home and business owners a clear image over a large area with the benefit of wireless connectivity offering a high definition feed at 30 frames per second.

As a mydlink™-enabled product, the camera can be accessed and configured remotely via the cloud using compatible mydlink™ mobile apps. It can also be set up via a step-by-step guide without the need of a computer. The app also supports the two-way audio function, making it possible to hear and talk to anyone in front of the camera via the app.

The camera also includes a megapixel image sensor to deliver snapshots and video with HD resolutions up to 720p. With support for simultaneous H.264 and MJPEG video compression as well as being ONVIF compliant, it is easy to integrate into any video management system.

Audio in and out connectors can be connected to a microphone and speaker, allowing for two-way communication. In addition, the Privacy Mask feature can block an area in view from being recorded, eliminating privacy concerns. Video footage can be saved on a storage device attached to the network. Alternatively an SD card can be plugged in for use as local camera side storage, as well as the ability to continue recording in the event of a network outage.

An infrared cut removable (ICR) filter is also built-in, which blocks infrared light during the day for improved image quality. At night, it moves out of the way to use all available light for low-light surveillance, and paired with a powerful IR LED illuminator with an 8-metre range, this camera can reportedly monitor an area even in complete darkness. Network security is assured thanks to the newest protocols such as IPv6 and HTTPS, whether connected via a wireless or wired connection.
