Norbain has announced a new supplier partnership with iLOQ, the company specialising in digital, keyless and battery free access management.
iLOQ’s technology is based on self-powered locking cylinders and padlocks that require no external power source. With no batteries, wiring or mains electricity required, each lock is powered by the energy harvested from an NFC enabled smartphone at the point of access. This enables secure, controlled entry while eliminating power dependency and significantly reducing lifecycle costs.
The battery free design makes iLOQ suited to remote, dispersed, or hard to reach locations, where maintenance visits are costly and traditional powered locking systems are impractical. Typical applications include residential properties, critical infrastructure, public facilities – such as schools, hospitals and commercial buildings, along with utilities infrastructure, telecommunications sites, critical national infrastructure, transport networks, and industrial environments.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with iLOQ as we continue to expand our smart access control portfolio,” said Buzz Coates, security solutions specialist at Norbain.
