Acre has announced that Founder and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Grillo is retiring, effective May 20, 2022. A proven and respected leader who has driven Acre’s business transformation and growth strategy, Joe’s knowledge of the security and access control businesses resulted in strong operating results and a track record of 11 successful acquisitions including Vanderbilt, TDS, Comnet, Open Options, Feenics, Matrix and RS2.

“It has been an honour to lead Acre over the past decade, and I am proud of all we accomplished in our mission to help our customers protect their most valuable assets,” said Joe. “It’s been incredible to see the changes in the company over the last 10 years. I’ve made lasting friendships, and I am fortunate to have worked with the absolute best people in the industry. After 40 years of working in the security industry, it’s time for me to explore new non-work related experiences.”

Taking over at the helm is Don Joos who will join the Acre executive team as the company’s new CEO, effective May 23, 2022. Don is a proven and experienced technology leader.

“Don joins the company at a pivotal time and is primed to deliver great leadership capacity to cover more ground, assess more opportunities, and speed decision making to best serve customers,” said Tzachi Wiesenfeld, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Acre. “As a veteran leader with experience in the dynamics of the high-tech markets, Don will play an integral role in furthering our geographic and target market reach. I couldn’t be happier to have him on board as we capture significant opportunities to help our customers secure their world.”

“I’d also like to thank Joe Grillo for his tremendous contribution to Acre, as the founder of the business back in 2012 and its CEO ever since,” he continued. “We wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
