The Serage SRDRB1 is an AI enhanced IP65 rated 5MP video doorbell capable of detecting and recording human subjects with loitering and package detection. It provides high resolution images and has capabilities for a range of lighting conditions. Full control of setup and recording with bi-directional audio supported and no need for a subscription. A mains plug-in digital chime is provided along with a chime kit for connection into an existing chime device. It is suitable for front door, apartment entrance or office entry use. Overall dimensions of the door unit are approximately 146 x 46 x 30 mm.
Getting started
The SRDRB1 can be connected in a number of ways to suit the installation. A standard RJ45 network port on the rear allows for PoE network connection, alternatively the device can be powered from an AC or DC 16 to 24v power source with Wi-Fi network connection using 2.4G or 5G.
When first connected to a power source, the call-button ring glows red for a short while until it turns blue following initialisation. This can be inhibited in settings.
DHCP is enable by default so the device can be readily found on an existing network, and the doorbell is accessed using a standard browser. At first connection you must enter and confirm a suitably secure admin password. You are then presented with a window showing the doorbell’s image with a range of on-screen icons including those for Live viewing, Playback and Remote Setting at the top right above the viewing area along with connection information and Exit buttons. Just above the image are Mainstream and Substream buttons to the left and a Palette icon for live image settings. At the bottom left are icons for Stop / Start Video, Full Screen, Capture, Audio, Light, Siren, Add Tag, and Privacy Mode.
Alternatively, the Serage AI app can be used for setup and for the ongoing monitoring of the doorbell. Android and iOS versions are available and once downloaded and run, you are given the option to set up an account for mobile use or to use local mode if used over a local network only.
Once established you are then prompted to “Add Device” using the QR code on the back of the doorbell. After the password page the device connects.
A backing plate is used to mount the device to a suitable wall or door surround with vertical and horizontal wedge plates provided to adjust the viewing angle if required.
The wireless chime uses a 433MHz signal to connect to the doorbell and is approximately 106 x 54 x 39 mm. This UK mains socket plug-in chime has volume and ringtone buttons for customisation.
