Reusable steel door secures premises

by Andy Clutton

Robust UK has launched TEMP-DOR, a temporary door solution that enables businesses to secure their premises following break-ins or door damage. The system represents a move away from traditional boarding-up methods to offer a secure, reusable steel door solution, which is designed to maintain building security until a permanent replacement is available.

TEMP-DOR features an adjustable frame which can accommodate openings from 875mm to 1095mm wide, whilst its modular design enables rapid on-site assembly. The door can be configured for both left-hand and right-hand openings and for inward or outward opening, ensuring compatibility with different building requirements. Built to withstand unauthorised access attempts and weather exposure, the door is manufactured with an escape sashlock compliant with BS EN 179.

According to the latest Commercial Victimisation Survey (CVS) there were an estimated 146,000 burglaries (including attempts) against business premises in England and Wales (2023). This figure represents 8% of all business premises and is a rise from previous years, indicating the prevalence of these crimes across the UK.

Jason Robinson, technical director at Robust, explains: “TEMP-DOR eliminates the need for unreliable temporary boarding or expensive manned guarding and is highly effective in maintaining building integrity whilst presenting a professional appearance.”
