Chubb completes installation for The Wine Society

by Andy Clutton

Chubb has completed an integrated security installation for a customer of 20+ years, The Wine Society.

Founded in 1874, The Wine Society located in Stevenage, is a member-owned community of wine lovers. Chubb secured the contract for installing an integrated security solution at the Society’s new warehouse, which involved installing an intruder alarm system, CCTV and access control. The warehouse is 70m long and 23m high with over 6,000sq/m of floor space and has been designed using temperature moderating technology and includes facilities for solar panels as well as electric charging stations.

The Galaxy Dimension intruder alarm system installed was an addition to the existing system Chubb had fitted in the previous warehouses, and covered the shutters, offices, warehouse and provided full perimeter protection.

A separate CCTV system was installed consisting of 20 IP cameras, including external PTZs and fixed cameras on a 32-Channel NVR.

In addition, a new access control system was installed on site, providing secure access management for employees, contractors and visitors to the Society’s warehouses and offices. The full installation took just over a year to complete.

Karen Coates, Chief Operating Officer at The Wine Society, said: “We have been very happy with the seamless way that Chubb have managed our installation and the service and support they continue to provide.”

Tony Walmsley, Senior Sales Consultant at Chubb, said: “We’ve completed numerous security installations for The Wine Society over the years, but this latest project is the one I’m most proud of – it was a beautiful installation. That’s not to say it didn’t have its challenges, for instance, when the contractors decided to change the location of control equipment and we had to think quickly and adapt our systems accordingly.

“Moving forwards, we look forward to supporting The Wine Society with their ongoing works and providing remote monitoring through our NSI-accredited Alarm Receiving Centre.”
