Assa Abloy announces two UK acquisitions

by Andy Clutton

Assa Abloy has announced two acquisitions this week with Exidor and Lorient being added to the portfolio.

UK manufacturer of panic and emergency exit hardware Exidor was acquired from Chamberlin Plc. It is hoped that the acquisition will create opportunities for both businesses to add greater value to customers by offering a broader product range.

Exidor will continue to operate as an autonomous business as part of the Door Hardware Group, retaining the existing management and commercial teams who have been responsible for developing its reputation in the market. Existing customer contact points remain unchanged.

“Exidor are an exciting addition to our UK business and I am delighted to welcome their team into Assa Abloy” says Harry Warrender Market Region Manager of Assa Abloy Opening Solutions UK & Ireland. “It offers an extensive high quality range of panic and emergency exit hardware with a strong track record of innovation.

Exidor was established in 1931 and has its headquarters in Cannock, West Midlands. The business employs approximately 70 employees and 2018 sales are expected to reach around £8 million.

Lorient is a designer and manufacturer of door sealing systems based in Newton Abbott, Devon. The company will also continue to operate as autonomous businesses as part of the Door Hardware Group, with customer contact points remaining unchanged.

Lorient was established in 1979 and has its headquarters in Newton Abbot, Devon. The business employs globally approximately 135 employees and 2018 sales are expected to reach around £18.6 million.
