Areas of expertise for the business include installation and maintenance of a range of electronic security systems including fire systems and automated barriers boasting accreditations such as NSI Gold, CHAS, Constructionline, Safe Contractor Cyber Essentials Plus.
What would be a typical project for you?
Stadia, transport, distribution and logistics hubs, factories and heavy industry, town centre schemes, retail and educational establishments (universities).
Is third party accreditation beneficial?
Yes, absolutely.
What is the best thing about working in this industry?
The fast pace of the industry means there are many changes, but the opportunity to deliver systems into smart buildings is very exciting for the industry.
Do you think there is a skills shortage in the industry?
Previously, London and the South East was a problem area however, we have recruited recently and have a very settled team. Industry apprenticeships are the way forward.
What would make your job easier?
The pace of the industry is so fast moving and it appears standards are almost changing daily/weekly. We are often correcting non-compliant installations which haven’t been installed to the newer standard. The industry appears to lack highly-skilled individuals, which is why apprenticeships are definitely required.
