IFSEC, the UK’s largest and longest-running security event, is set to host a golf day at Celtic Manor, South Wales, on 29th September 2022. Supported by PSI magazine, the invite-only event will see installers, distributors, manufacturers and customers compete for the IFSEC Cup and other trophies.
In September this year, the Roman Road course at Celtic Manor will see the inaugural IFSEC Golf Day take place as players from across the fire and security sectors compete for glory. Recognised as the ‘the top inland course in Wales’ by Golf Monthly Magazine, the par 70 course has been the venue for numerous European Tour and Senior Tour events and is the ideal place for the IFSEC Golf Day.
“We have been planning to host a golf tournament for a while and now we are proud to announce that we are kicking off our golf events at Celtic Manor this year,” said Gerry Dunphy, Event Director for Fire & Security at Informa Group. “The security industry is well known for its golfing talent and we look forward to welcoming guests to see the skills in action as our friends and colleagues from across the sector hit the course and have a great day out.”
The day will see golfers take a late breakfast before taking part in an 18-hole Stableford competition with the prize of the IFSEC Cup going to one worthy winner. There will also be rewards for the Nearest the Pin and the Longest Drive. The day will conclude with an early evening dinner.
Andy Clutton, editor of PSI magazine said: “We know from our own PSI Golf Day that the security and fire industries love a day on the golf course so it is welcome news to hear that the UK’s largest event is set to hold its own tournament. The first winner of the IFSEC Cup will certainly have something to boast about and no doubt we will see the trophy on display next May when IFSEC returns to London ExCeL.”
