Hikvision probably had the biggest stand in the exhibition drawing in huge numbers of visitors every day. We caught up with Gary Harmer, Sales Director at Hikvision UK & Ireland on the final day of the event to find out how the show went.
How was IFSEC 2018 for you?
“This year we have had a lot of interest from installers, end users and the Press in the artificial intelligence piece,” said Gary. “It has been one of our main focus points and the product set we have been demonstrating is around facial recognition/capture, queue management, behavioural analysis and slips, trips and falls. All of this has been very well received and the fact that we can deploy this technology on our new VMS platform, HikCentral, has gone down really well. The ability to propagate faces across a whole system, be that a single site or multiple sites, to find that face on a recorded device, has been of real interest to visitors.
“The other showpiece for us has been our intelligent traffic management system.”
Have you seen plenty of people?
“Overall we have been delighted with the attendance and found the stand to be really busy and we have had good engagement from the customer base,” concluded Gary.
