ADI webinar addresses school security strategies

by Andy Clutton

As part of its School’s Out campaign, ADI has produced an on-demand webinar entitled ‘Making the Grade on School Fire and Security Safety’ in which experts from Linian, Safety Technology International and Connectix address a few key strategies and solutions required to design and implement an effective, round-the-clock school fire and security safety strategy.

A key driver of the increase in school fire and security safety concerns is the ‘extended schools programme’, which provides a range of activities and services outside of the regular school day to help better meet the needs of its pupils and the wider community. While beneficial to an educational institution’s local community, it presents the challenge of ensuring that the school is always safe and secure.

Speakers in the 45-minute webinar include:

Mike Harper, Regional Sales Manager, Connectix Cabling Systems – Mike has over 30 years of specialised experience in the structured cabling industry. His experience has evolved over the years in LAN/WAN cabling, from the early days of 4-pair technology being introduced to the market (Cat 3) to the most predominant systems of Cat6, Cat6a and Cat7 and Optical Fibre Technology being used in the industry today. Over the last 15 years, he has been employed by Connectix as Regional Sales Manager, in both a Sales and Business Development capacity. His primary focus is to support their largest re-seller ADI Global, for the EMEA Region on a full range of Copper, Fibre, Cabinets and all the relevant accessories.

Ian Arbuckle, CEO and Technical Director, LINIAN – Ian is responsible for the overall management of the LINIAN companies (including LINIAN Labs, the product development side and LINIAN Small Parts Coating services) ensuring that the company achieves its goals, adheres to its core values and creates and maintains a working culture that benefits the business and its people. He is also fortunate in that he gets to develop products and make improvements to existing products alongside his dad, Wes Arbuckle, inventor of the FireClip, the original single-component fire-rated fixing.

Michala Ford, Head of Business Support, Safety Technology International (STI) – Michala is STI EMEA’s longest-serving employee having spent over two decades with the company. Appointed as the Marketing Executive back in January 2000, she has since taken on various marketing and sales management roles and been instrumental in launching new products and increasing sales throughout UK and EMEA.

Stuart Bradshaw,  Digital Experience Director, EMEA for ADI Global Distribution – Stuart is ADI EMEA’s Digital Experience Director and has 25 years’ experience working in global technology companies, such as Apple and Plantronics. In his 5 year tenure at ADI, he has led the Marketing Operations function working closely with supplier partners. He is now responsible for providing the customer’s web experience, bringing his knowledge of the security market to the fore in a digital context.
