Comelit-PAC unveils GDX Next

by Andy Clutton

Comelit-PAC has launched GDX Next, the next generation of its GDX door entry platform, designed to support the operational and security requirements of local authorities and private social housing providers managing residential estates.

As housing providers oversee increasingly complex estates, expectations around building door entry systems have evolved. Beyond securing entrances, systems are expected to be straightforward to manage, adaptable to different buildings and capable of supporting long term estate remote management strategies.

David Hughes, head of product management at Comelit-PAC says: “For managing large residential estates, local authorities and private housing providers rely on door entry systems to maintain security and day-to-day operations. When developing GDX Next, we wanted to create a platform that reflects the way these systems are used in practice. This meant focusing on simplicity, flexibility and creating a solution that housing teams can manage confidently over the long term.”

GDX Next combines Comelit door entry technology with PAC access control hardware to create a unified platform supporting both audio and video door entry alongside integrated access management. The platform is designed to simplify infrastructure while giving housing teams flexibility to manage systems confidently over time.

The latest design reduces complexity for installers and building managers. A common hardware and cabling structure across handset options streamlines installation, cuts component requirements, and supports more efficient upgrades and long-term maintenance across large estates.

GDX Next offers multiple access management options. Systems can operate as standalone installations, be managed via PC-based software, or administered remotely through cloud-based Housing Central. Multi-technology readers and a range of handset options allow housing providers to tailor solutions to operational needs and resident preferences.
