In footage captured by a number of cameras, a wild boar has run riot in Istanbul. The animal was first captured on camera swimming alongside a boat before reaching land and running through the Beykoz district.
A number of CCTV cameras captured the animal’s entire journey throughout the day after it waded through the river and later attempted to enter shops in the city.
According to the Daily Mail, a rise in boar sightings in the area has been blamed on construction work in the northern forests of Istanbul. The ever expanding growth of Istanbul to cater for its growing populace is threatening the natural habitat of the animal. Construction work in these areas has meant the boars are having to relocate to the other side of the city.
