The EP4 wire-free peephole door viewer is a security solution designed to turn a traditional door peephole into a front-door monitoring system. Combining 4K video, AI recognition technology and a 5.5-inch indoor touch display, the EP4 delivers a convenient way for households to stay connected to their doorstep. Designed for those seeking a hassle-free upgrade, the device installs directly into existing peepholes without the need for drilling or rewiring. It supports peephole diameters from 14 mm to 50 mm, making it compatible with a range of doors.
The camera unit features the lens along with a loudspeaker and microphone for two-way audio, sensors and a doorbell. The camera sits on the outside of the door attached to the display on the inside of the door. The touchscreen unit powers the camera using a 7100mAh rechargeable battery.
Getting started
After unboxing you will need to download the EZVIZ app in order to scan the QR code leading you to the manual. After setting up an account and completing verification you can access the manual to set up the device before powering it up and adding to the app as one of the user’s EZVIZ devices. Prior to starting you have the option of inserting an SD card (up to 512 GB) to the touchscreen for local video storage.
Note: The camera does not attach itself to an existing peephole – you need to remove the peephole if there is one already in place or drill a new hole of around 14mm diameter in the door. Select the correct length of screws from the three options to suit the thickness of the door and lightly attach to the back of the camera, not tightened. Remove the release paper on the adhesive pad and carefully pass the screws and wire through the hole in the door then, ensuring the unit is positioned in the correct orientation (use the EZVIZ logo as a level guide if required) gently press the unit into place on the door exterior.
Remove the mounting base from the display and attach the camera cable into the slot at the bottom of the frame. Clip the base cover over the connection to keep it in place and pass the screws through the mounting holes. Pull the excess connector cable through the base opening and begin to tighten the screws holding the mounting plate in level position. Once in place, tidy the connection cable and cover by inserting the buckle.
Slot the display into the mount aligning the hooks on the panel to the grooves on the base, there is a soft click as the unit is fully in place. The display is now connected to the camera and ready to register so remove both of the protective films.
