Skills for Security has announced the return of its flagship event, Engineering Futures: A Celebration.

Now in its third year, this annual event brings together employers, sponsors and industry leaders, from across the fire and security sectors to reflect on progress, celebrate success, and look ahead to the future of engineering and technical education in the UK.

Having been held at the House of Lords in its first two years, the event moves to the Royal Academy of Engineering. It will recognise the achievements made possible through the Skills for Security sponsorship programme and the vital contributions of loyal employer partners.

“We’re excited to present Engineering Futures: A Celebration,” said David Scott, managing director of Skills for Security. “Over the past year, we’ve seen remarkable growth and resilience, made possible by our passionate team, our loyal sponsors and our employer partners who consistently invest in young talent. This occasion, moving to a more indicative venue gives us the opportunity to reflect, to say thank you, and to share our ambitious vision for what’s coming next.”

The evening will showcase stories of transformation, dedication, and innovation – spotlighting organisations who are actively shaping the future of the fire and security landscape. Guests will hear from David Scott, alongside Simon Banks, chairman of Skills for Security to gain insights into the evolution of the sector and enjoy the opportunity to network with peers from across engineering, education, and security.

There will be a special segment focused on what lies ahead for Skills for Security, including three dedicated awards to recognise excellence across employers.  This is alongside new partnerships, programme expansions, and strategic investments in training innovation.

Simon Banks, chairman of Skills for Security, concluded: “With a growing community of supporters and a commitment to workforce development, Skills for Security is proud to champion the professionals of tomorrow.  This celebration is a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together to raise standards, invest in people and secure the future of our industry. I look forward to welcoming our guests to what promises to be another unforgettable evening.”

The event, Engineering Futures: A Celebration, will take place on Tuesday, 10th June 2025, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at the Royal Academy of Engineering in London.
