The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has entered into a five-year partnership with Halo Solutions to streamline operations in event safety and incident reporting across events annually, including RHS Chelsea Flower Show, RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, RHS Sandringham, RHS Badminton and RHS Wentworth Woodhouse Flower Shows.
The first of the Shows, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, took place on the 21st – 25th May. Over the course of the event, RHS was responsible for the safety of 400 exhibitors and around 145,000 visitors, including members of the Royal Family and VIPs.
The Halo System connects together venue and event teams and partner agencies including police, medical, fire, CCTV, event operations and customer care to centrally monitor and respond to incidents, issues and concerns. Multiple agencies can concurrently log and record all activities using Halo Solutions’ app in real-time, with mobile and desktop applications, getting the full picture, to the right people, and storing clear and complete audit trails on all incidents, tasks and responses.
The RHS’ new partnership with Halo has streamlined their reporting process, providing a fully integrated, auditable system that brings everything into one place.
David Edwards, Head of Operations, RHS, said: “The power of real-time reporting and the ability to maintain a robust, auditable record have been game-changers. Implementation was seamless—just one hour of training—and the feedback from our team has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Lloyd Major, CEO, Halo Solutions, added: “As the UK prepares to host hundreds of major public events this summer, the pressure on public safety operations continues to grow. Yet, many organisations still use antiquated systems and processes to manage communication and incident reporting. It’s great to see the RHS investing in technology that connects information meaningfully, addresses these challenges by integrating multi-agency co-ordination, geolocation, offline reporting capabilities and public reporting tools with a single platform.”
