This year distributor QED is celebrating 25 years in business. The company has come a long way from the organised chaos of a garage-based warehouse in 1997 to the organisation it is today.
Co-founders Ian Smith and David Arrowsmith said: “This is an incredible milestone for any company. The business has achieved this success through the hard work, passion, and dedication of our team members and loyal customers.

“In 2020, we made the decision to retire and hand over the reins to Matt Philp who has continued to strengthen existing relationships and make improvements on our strict distribution procedures and attention to detail; and our culture of customer service that exists throughout the entire company.
“We have dedicated ourselves to 25 years of introducing security products and business process improvements and efficiencies to provide our customers with the highest quality solutions and services.”
Matt Philp, Managing Director at QED, said: “It has been a pleasure to work alongside such great guys over the last couple of decades they have truly built a great business and we will continue to grow on the strong foundations they have created.”
Throughout 2022, the company has been looking back at where it started, what has been achieved and what the plans are for the future. In the summer, QED celebrated by inviting all employees to a day out to celebrate the milestone.
“It’s been a tough few years for everyone and we are here to help in our small way and we look forward to celebrating the next 25 years,” said Matt Philp.
