Matt Pound is the Group Sales & Marketing Director at Lodge Security in Cirencester, Gloucestershire
What are your company’s main business activities?
We design, install, and monitor intelligent security systems for businesses across the UK and Europe. That includes CCTV, access control, intruder and fire systems, and full integration into cloud-based monitoring. Our goal is simple: to make security smarter, not just stronger. We combine technology, engineering, and insight to help clients prevent problems before they happen, not just react when they do.
What emerging technologies do you see shaping the future of the industry, and how is your company adapting to stay ahead?
Artificial intelligence is already changing how we detect, respond, and even think about risk. AI-driven video analytics and behavioural detection are helping us move from passive monitoring to proactive decision-making. The real shift will come as automation becomes standard, where systems can learn, adjust, and alert intelligently. We’re investing heavily in that direction, ensuring every solution we deliver can analyse data in real time, spot anomalies, and drive faster, more accurate responses. The future of security is autonomous, connected, and constantly learning.
In what ways does NSI certification differentiate your company from competitors and enhance your credibility within the industry?
NSI Gold gives clients confidence that every part of our operation, design, installation, maintenance, and monitoring, meets the highest technical and compliance standards. It’s something we’re genuinely proud of, especially having achieved full marks in our recent audits. But more than the paperwork, it’s about mindset. That discipline, that attention to detail, runs through everything we do, from our engineers on site to our monitoring centre teams.
How has the rise of smart/home automation technology influenced your business and the services you offer?
It’s raised expectations. Businesses now want the same level of integration and simplicity that people have at home. Systems that connect, talk to each other, and can be managed from anywhere. We’ve built our services around that principle. Our installations are designed to tie into building management, lighting, and energy systems, all through secure cloud connectivity. That means clients have full control and visibility, without complexity.
In your opinion, what is the most common misconception or myth about the security industry?
That advanced technology makes things harder to manage. In reality, when systems are designed properly, they make life easier. The whole point of AI and integration is to simplify operations and surface only the information that matters. Another misconception is that technology replaces people; it doesn’t. It gives them better tools. The best systems make teams sharper, faster, and more confident.
