
HKC has appointed Gerard Riney as its head of research and development. With over ten years in security technology, Gerard brings extensive knowledge in hardware design, embedded firmware, cloud infrastructure and connected security products.
During his career, he has brought multiple alarm system components to market and delivered integrations with access control and mobile applications, which will prove vital to the development of new HKC products moving forward.
As head of R&D, Gerard will oversee the full lifecycle of product development, from the initial concept to delivery and ongoing innovation. He will lead HKC’s engineering teams throughout the process. He will also work closely alongside other areas of the business to ensure research and development aligns with HKC’s commercial and strategic goals.
