Heald has launched the Electromechanical (EM) Viper adding to the Viper range, which includes the Viper Shallow-Mounted Road Blocker, and is designed to provide vehicle access control in high-risk locations.
The EM viper requires a shallow excavation depth of 380mm to 460mm, removing the need for a precast pit and simplifying the installation process and features a hot-dip galvanised steel base for corrosion resistance and includes multiple ducting and drainage connection points for flexibility in site integration. A sacrificial skirt design reduces debris collection and provides easy access for maintenance.
Certified to both PAS 68 and ASTM standards as a single unit, the EM Viper ensures security across variable opening widths. It achieved zero penetration in crash tests and remained fully operational post-impact without requiring repairs. The internal linkage bars are engineered to protect drive mechanisms during impact, while also ensuring quiet and smooth day-to-day operation.
