
The Association of Security Consultants (ASC) recently introduced the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) to strengthen the Association’s operational capability, reflecting the growth of its activities and engagement across the security sector.
Following an independent review and a competitive, thorough selection process, the Association has confirmed the appointment of Gary Thomas as the ASC’s first Chief Operating Officer.
Independent security consultant Gary has served the Association with distinction during his time as the ASC Chair and has played an important role in shaping the direction of the organisation and championing the interests of its members. As COO, he will turn his attention to strengthening the organisation’s operations, ensuring the ASC has the systems and resources to better support its members’ evolving needs and deliver its upcoming initiatives.
With Gary stepping into the COO role, the Board has announced Simon Crane as the new ASC Chair and Lee Doddridge as Vice Chair, commenting: “Simon and Lee both bring a strong commitment and passion to the security profession, alongside many years of experience supporting and advancing the industry. The Board is confident that, under Simon’s leadership as Chair, supported by Lee as Vice Chair, the ASC will continue to strengthen its role in championing independent security consultancy and upholding the highest professional standards across the sector.”
