Fortus announces acquisition of Security Supplies

by Andy Clutton

Fortus has announced the acquisition of Security Supplies, the UK-based security distributor in a move that strengthens Fortus’ presence in the southern region.

Security Supplies’ established operations (with offices in Fareham, Poole, St Albans and Chelmsford) and experienced team will be fully integrated into the Fortus Group structure, ensuring partners continue to receive the same service, now with access to a broader product range.

Brian Honan, CEO of Fortus Group, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Security Supplies into the Fortus family. This acquisition unites two businesses built on shared values – customer service excellence, deep technical knowledge, and a passion for delivering innovative security solutions. Together, we will strengthen and expand our offering across the UK.”

Mark Brophy, CCO of Fortus Group, said: “This is a significant and exciting milestone for Fortus Group as we announce the acquisition of Security Supplies — our tenth acquisition in five years. This expansion grows our footprint across Ireland, the UK, and Benelux from 17 to 21 locations. I’m particularly looking forward to working with Paul Shipman and his team, who have built an outstanding business that we’re proud to welcome into the Fortus family. We’re also deeply grateful to our equity partner, Goodbody Capital Partners, for their substantial investment in support of this transaction. Their continued backing has been instrumental in our growth — this marks the seventh acquisition since their initial investment in December 2022.”

Paul Shipman, company director of Security Supplies, added: “Joining Fortus marks an exciting new chapter for SSL, our team, and our valued partners. We share a vision for innovation and service, and this partnership will allow us to do even more – powered by the scale and support of the Fortus Group.”
