Fike reveals new VAD sounder

by Andy Clutton

Fike Safety Technology has launched the Twinflex VAD (Visual Alarm Device) Sounder, now available in the UK and across Europe. Designed to integrate with the Twinflex 2-wire range, the device delivers audible alerts when a fire alarm system triggers a fire condition, providing warning across commercial and industrial environments.

Designed for installers to help meet BS:5839 Pt1 requirements and compliant with EN54 Pt3 and EN54-23 standards, the Twinflex VAD Sounder Strobe is a 2-wire zone-powered sounder and combined strobe which can be installed on the same zone as the Twinflex ASD detector/sounder and other associated Twinflex devices. This reduces cabling complexity and streamlines setup, making it ideal for both new installations and retrofits.

“The new Twinflex VAD Sounder Strobe which has a flash rate of between 35ms to 110ms and a very low operating current of 144 uA,” said Colin Smith, Fike’s fire manager for UK and Europe. “It builds on our proven Twinflex platform, offering installers and end-users peace of mind through simplified wiring and high-performance audible alerts.”
