BAFE has announced the appointment of Chris Auger in the position of Schemes Support Manager. Chris comes from a quality and accreditation background with mechanical engineering skills and previous posts include Assessment Manager for UKAS and most recently the UK Accreditation Manager for Bureau Veritas UK.
Chris will be working for a short handover period alongside Tony Maskens, who has been with BAFE since 2009. Tony has been a key part of evolving BAFE’s responsibility towards developing schemes to display competence in the fire industry. Working to support quality standards Tony has been vital in reviewing and monitoring pre-existing schemes, developing new schemes to ensure they are effective within the sector and promoting relationships with stakeholders including UKAS, Certification Bodies and Trade Bodies.
“BAFE has appointed a strong addition to the team with Chris. His background of accreditation and certification ensures his proficiency and will help BAFE continue our remit of promoting quality in fire safety so ably developed by Tony Maskens” said Stephen Adams, Chief Executive of BAFE.
