Simon Legrand launches Fyrfly Systems

by Andy Clutton

Fyrfly Systems has been launched to offer end-to-end security solutions including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, fire systems, wireless networks, and 24/7 monitoring for schools, colleges, local authorities, NHS estates and central government bodies.

The company was founded by Simon Legrand (pictured), who brings a combined background across public sector institutions and global technology infrastructure. Prior to founding Fyrfly, Simon spent fourteen years as a professional and consultant across the public and academic sectors. He subsequently co-founded Sunstone Systems in 2011.

“Schools and public sector organisations are routinely underserved by the security market,” says Simon. “They are complex, compliance-heavy environments with genuine safeguarding obligations, and too many providers treat them as a variant of commercial or retail security. Fyrfly was built specifically for these environments, with the sector knowledge, standards alignment and end-to-end accountability that they require.”

All services are delivered in-house to relevant British Standards, including BS EN 62676, BS 8243 and BS 5839. Systems are designed to comply with DfE security guidelines, Keeping Children Safe in Education, and the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law.
