Skills for Security has announced Texecom as its latest sponsor. With the partnership, Skills for Security hopes to appeal to a new audience in its efforts to address the skills gap and believes that Texecom, with its Cloud technology platform, could play a positive role in achieving that goal. Texecom products will be at every event Skills for Security attends this year to showcase the types of technology used daily in the sector.
David Scott, Managing Director of Skills for Security, commented: “Texecom has always been hugely supportive of everything we do at SfS, from supporting us with the latest kit and technologies like the Cloud-based engineer platform and the competitions we run throughout the sector. We are proud to have such a supportive partner on board with our sponsorship initiative.”
The companies have worked together for several years on the WSUK competition, Engineers of Tomorrow and have jointly trained over 600 apprentices. Expanding this collaboration with the new partnership is set to make a meaningful impact in preparing the next generation of security professionals for the hybrid world that the industry is now a part of. Skills for Security launched the initiative in May 2023 to close the skills gap in the security industry and drive its growth. Over that time it has reinvested (with the support of partners) over £100K back into the industry supporting young people into careers within the fire and security sector.
Andy Keeley, Head of Marketing for Texecom, commented: “At Texecom we are committed to investing in the next generation of the security industry. Partnering with Skills for Security ensures that we are not only helping to bridge the skills gap in our sector, but we are also providing the right support and equipment to help train apprentices and new entrants to the industry with the latest products and technologies.”
Later in the year Skills for Security, BSIA, Texecom and CSL will be shining the spotlight on the sector at the WorldSkills UK Finals, in which the Engineers of Tomorrow winners will compete for a national title and then again at the National Apprenticeship Show.
